Introduction:

Pirimicarb is a carbamate pesticide. Carbamate pesticides are derived from carbamic acid and kill insects in a similar fashion as organophosphate insecticides. pirimicarb is a cholinesterase or acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor.  A cholinesterase inhibitor suppresses the action of acetylcholine esterase. It is absorbed by the root and translocated through the xylem and penetrates the leaves, but is not translocated extensively.
