Introduction:

Pyriproxyfen is an insecticide used to control whiteflies, aphids, and other pests in greenhouses and crop fields. It functions as a growth regulator, targeting insects from the egg stage to adulthood. Acting as a mimic of juvenile hormones, pyriproxyfen disrupts insect maturation processes. By imitating a natural hormone, it interferes with insect growth, primarily affecting young insects and eggs. Pyriproxyfen is effective against various pests such as fleas, cockroaches, ticks, ants, carpet beetles, and mosquitoes. It can affect insects through contact or ingestion, although it typically does not harm adult insects directly. Instead, it disrupts egg-laying, hatching, and prevents immature insects from reaching adulthood, thereby controlling pest populations.
