Introduction:

Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl is a wheat herbicide used to control a broad spectrum of grass weeds. It inhibits the biosynthesis of fatty acids, leading to plant death. For application in cereal crops, the Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl formulation contains the safener mephenpyr-diethyl, which is absorbed by foliage. In cereals, it enhances the rate of metabolism of Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl to non-phytotoxic products.
