Glyphosate works by being absorbed through the foliage, and then rapidly translocated throughout the plant. Glyphosate inhibits 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS), an enzyme in the aromatic acid biosynthetic pathway.
