Introduction:
Ethion is an organophosphate insecticide and acaricide used to control aphids, mites, scales, leafhoppers, and larvae that feed on foliage. It acts as a non-systemic insecticide and acaricide primarily through contact action. Ethion is predominantly applied in citrus and apple orchards. It is tank-mixed with emulsion oil and sprayed on dormant trees to target eggs, scales, and overwintering stages of various pests. The winter spray is applied during the dormant period of trees, using emulsion oil (Super Volk Gyah) to control insects, mites, and mealybugs. It typically does not cause harm to plants, except in certain types of apples.
