Introduction:
Fipronil is a widely used insecticide belonging to the phenylpyrazole chemical family. It is effective against lepidopteran (moths) and orthopteran (grasshoppers, locusts) pests, as well as ants, beetles, rootworms, and other insects. Fipronil acts broadly with both contact and stomach action, blocking the passage of chloride ions through the GABA-regulated chloride channel, thereby disrupting central nervous system activity.
