Introduction:
Pirimicarb is a carbamate pesticide, derived from carbamic acid, which kills insects similarly to organophosphate insecticides. It acts as a cholinesterase or acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor, suppressing the action of acetylcholinesterase. It is absorbed by the roots, translocated through the xylem, and penetrates the leaves, although it is not extensively translocated.
