Introduction:
Penconazole is a systemic triazole fungicide with protective and curative action against powdery mildew. It inhibits the development of fungi by interfering with the biosynthesis of sterols in cell membranes. This fungicide is commonly used on fruit, particularly apples and grapes, as well as vegetables. It effectively controls fungal pathogens, including Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, and Deuteromycetes, by inhibiting sterol demethylation and ergosterol biosynthesis in cell membranes. Penconazole is absorbed by the leaves and translocated acropetally. It is used to control powdery mildew, scab, and other pathogenic fungi on vines, pome fruit, stone fruit, ornamentals, and vegetables.
