Introduction:
Nicosulfuron is a selective, systemic post-emergence herbicide used to control annual grass weeds, broadleaved weeds, and perennial grass weeds in maize crops. It is rapidly absorbed into the weed leaves and is translocated through the xylem and phloem towards the meristematic zone, where it inhibits plant amino acid synthesis by targeting acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS).
