Introduction:
Clopyralid is a post-emergence herbicide used for the control of broad-leaved weeds. It belongs to the Pyridine carboxylic acid group and enters treated vegetation through the leaves and roots. Clopyralid functions by replacing natural auxins at binding sites, causing abnormal growth and disrupting the plant’s growth processes. It is water-soluble and does not bind strongly to soils, making foliar application more effective for complete control than soil application. Additionally, Clopyralid is resistant to degradation by sunlight and hydrolysis, ensuring prolonged efficacy.
