Fosetyl-aluminium is used to control diseases caused by pathogens such as Phytophthora, Pythium, Plasmopara, and Bremia spp. on various crops, including vines, fruit (such as citrus, pineapples, avocados, stone fruit, and pome fruit), berries, vegetables, hops, ornamentals, and turf. It also exhibits useful activity against several bacterial plant pathogens. Fosetyl-aluminium acts by inhibiting the germination of spores or by blocking the development of sporulation and mycelium. It is a systemic fungicide that is rapidly absorbed through the plant’s leaves or roots, with translocation occurring both upwards and downwards within the plant.
