Introduction:
Pretilachlor is a systemic pre-emergence herbicide for the control of annual grasses and certain broad-leaved weeds in rice, both in seeded and transplanted fields. Pretilachlor belongs to the chloroacetanilide herbicide family, derived from natural compounds, and is commonly used for annual grasses and broad-leaved weeds, including Echinochloa sp., Cyperus difformis, and sedges in rice and paddy fields. Pretilachlor is absorbed primarily by the germinating shoots and secondarily by the roots, with translocation throughout the plant, resulting in higher concentrations in vegetative parts than in reproductive parts.
